This 2-day workshop will provide fundamental education for new and returning green industry professionals so they can hit the ground running in Spring 2020.
This workshop is for all green industry professionals including landscape contractors, installers, landscape management, field staff, grounds managers, and garden center employees.
Classroom training will provide basic instruction on the following topics:
- Design Basics
- General Safety and First Aid
- Soil Management
- Tree/Shrub Pruning Best Practices
- Plant Identification
- Best Plants for Specific Sites/Conditions
- Tree Planting Best Practices
- Irrigation Practices for Water Conservation
- Customer Service
- Container Gardening Basics
- Turf 101
- Tactics and Tools to Manage Insects of Trees, Turf, and Flowers.
- Disease Management
Classes are instructed by:
- Local Industry Professionals
- University of Minnesota Professors
Parking is free. Morning coffee and lunch are included both days.
Dietary Requests: Every effort will be made to accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free lunch requests. Verbal requests must be made to the MNLA Office at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. Accommodations are not guaranteed.
MNLA Registration Refund Policy: For all MNLA education events, MNLA will gladly make a full refund of your registration fee if cancellation notice is received more than two business days in advance of the event. In the two business days prior to the event, a 50 percent refund will be given. No refunds will be given for no-shows or cancellations made the day of the event. Cancellations may be made in writing, by fax, or by telephone call received at the MNLA office during normal business hours.
