Malmborg's Garden Center, Blaine

Malmborg's opened their Blaine garden center location in April of 2012. This spacious garden center has allowed Malmborg's to bring their large selection of annuals, vegetables, herbs, and more to the North Metro. Malmborgs looks forward to serving the avid gardeners in the Blaine area, and helping them to continue to beautify their homes and gardens.

Mickman Brothers, Inc., Ham Lake

Founded in 1975 by brothers Chris and John Mickman, Mickman Brothers now operates 5 profit centers including Landscaping, Irrigation, Garden Center, Landscape Management and a Christmas Wreath manufacturing business. Their Garden Center is the 'flagship' for the company as it is has the most significant presence in the community. They grow most of their annuals and perennials in their greenhouses and also offer a complete selection of trees, shrubs and mulches. Services offered include delivery and planting services and 'Garden Coaches' which work more closely with customers who need an elevated level of consultation for their landscape gardens. Current marketing efforts are primarily social media based. However, they strive to elevate their community profile in other ways such as offering green industry seminars and also host many 'events' annually including Customer Appreciation Picnics, Lady's Night Out,  and Vendor/Client Galas. During your tour, be sure to visit the Design Studio which includes offices for the Landscaping and Irrigation businesses, providing a higher level of services to both residential and commercial clients.

Waldoch Farm, Lino Lakes

Waldoch Farm is a family run garden center providing top-quality plants, garden accessories and produce to Lino Lakes and the surrounding communities. Owner, Mary Joyer, and her sister, Kathy, run the garden center with help from the forth generation: Andrew Joyer and Doug Joyer. With 95% of what they grow being sold on farm as retail, they take pride in their product as a grower/retailer. Their first Sunflower Festival will be underway during the tour, and there will be great opportunity to explore the vegetable-focused PYO operation as well as Grandpa’s Roadstand, and Joyer Barnyard which houses sheep, pigs, goats, ponies, fowl and more. Their Garden Center is the biggest division of the farm making up for 67% of their overall business.

Bergen's Greenhouses, Forest Lake

Bergen's is a fourth-generation, family owned business and has been servicing the upper Midwest since 1921. The company operates just over 55 acres of indoor growing space between three grow sites (Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, and Columbus, MN). The primary crops grown are house plants, poinsettias, Easter lilies, annuals, garden mums, “Northern Grown” perennials, and shrubs. What makes the Columbus, MN facility unique? flood floors, Dutch hanging basket grids, open air roof system, water recycling, and the people.

Green Barn Garden Center, Isanti

Green Barn Garden Center is a third generation family business in Isanti that started in 1957 as a vegetable stand. Green Barn now specializes in greenhouse production of bedding plants, perennials, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets that are sold primarily onsite and to a few wholesale accounts. The tradition of field vegetable production has continued with over 100 acres of potatoes, sweet corn, pumpkins, tomatoes, squash, and more that are sold in the store throughout the summer and fall. Green Barn hosts special events and workshops throughout the year. A large indoor straw maze and corn kernel pit transform the greenhouse throughout the month of October.

Northland Landscape Nursery, Isanti

Northland Landscape Nursery is a complete landscape supply center in the North Metro. Whether customers need a replacement Hunter sprinkler head or are just looking to meander through the garden center for a unique plant or gift item, Northland has what they are looking for! Many seasonal specials can be found throughout the garden center, and locally crafted items are often on hand. A large outdoor display area with putting green and waterfall delights and amazes visitors.
