Instructor:  Cody Mastel, Owner, Designer and Educator at Land by Hand
Permaculture is an agriculture ecosystem that is designed to be sustainable and self-sufficient, and can be put into practice on properties of all sizes, from urban plots to hobby farms. With historical roots around the equator, this food growing method has made its way to the Midwest. In this three-part workshop, you and fellow food growers will explore the amazing abundance that can be created, tapped into, and harvested using this holistic process. You will begin with an introduction and overview of concepts, and move quickly into practical application for your own property: Cody will help you to develop a realistic permaculture design that you can implement at home. Each of the workshops will provide a balance of presentation and activities to help apply these tools towards students' current or future homesteads. You will be equipped with comprehensive handouts, resources, and plant lists for our growing zone. SUGGESTED: Bring a notebook and pencil.
