MNLA webinars provide timely educational topics from the comfort of your home or office. Join us for one or all of the lunch-time webinars this spring!

Cost:  Unless otherwise noted, webinars are free for MNLA members; $29 for non-members.

Presenter:  Julie Weisenhorn holds a MA in Visual Communication from the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and a second Master’s in Horticulture also from the U of MN. She taught basic and advanced landscape design courses at the U of MN Department of Horticultural Science from 2002-2007, and served as state director of the Extension Master Gardener Program from 2007-2014. From 2014 to present day, Weisenhorn is a full-time extension educator in horticulture with statewide responsibility for teaching, research and outreach on various horticulture topics around sustainability with special focus on plant selection and sustainable residential landscape design. She coordinates and regularly appears on the popular WCCO Radio Smart Gardens show, is a contributor to the Extension Yard & Garden News, and recently released the second version of the Plant Elements of Design plant selection database. In her own words, “This is the best job I have ever had.”


Description: Plants that provide pollinator food and habitat are important to our landscapes. Annual flowers are favorite garden plants that add instant color and beauty, but do they attract insect pollinators? Hear the results of a 3-year study on which of the 55 annuals attracted the most pollinators.



  • The webinar begins at 12:00 p.m., and is 50 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion and questions.


Please note that credit (if available) is only provided to registered attendees participating at their own computer and phone. 

  • MNLA webinars are approved for MNLA CP recertification at 1 CEU per hour of instruction attended.
How To Attend:
Join the live program from your home or office using a computer with high speed internet. You may ask questions, participate in surveys, and post comments from your computer during the program. Simple instructions with a link to the program will be emailed to you when you register.
