  Certified Treecare Safety Professional
  November 11-12, 2008
  Milwaukee, WI

Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) is an individual credential offered through the Tree Care Industry Association and is the only tree care safety trainer credentialing program in the industry. The goal of the CTSP program is to assist individual organizations in developing and maintaining a consistent safety program, leading to fewer work-related accidents and injuries as well as the costs and lost time associated with them. The CTSP program not only allows business owners to establish a safety program for a modest investment, it also provides a new career path in safety training for key employees, increasing their job satisfaction and company loyalty. By having one or more CTSPs on staff, you can:

  • Protect your employees/coworkers
  • Prevent accidents and avoid potential litigation
  • Lower costs, improve morale, and increase production at your company

How CTSP works: One or more employees are enrolled in the program and given the education and tools to become their organization's internal safety trainers. Their education includes instruction in building a company-wide commitment to the safety culture and encouraging every employee to play a role. After completing their CTSP Manual, the enrolled employee(s) attend a workshop and sit for an exam to complete the credential.

Preparatory coursework is required in advance of the workshop, so it is recommended that interested parties enroll in the program ASAP. Visit www.tcia.org and click the CTSP tab or call 800.733.2622 to learn more about CTSP and/or enroll in the program.

  November 12, 2008
  Midland Hills Country Club, Roseville

MNLA 's Certification Committee members will explain the test format and test strategy at this training day. Participants will then have the opportunity to test themselves with a series of mini tests. The certification Exam is based on general horticultural knowledge, plant identification, and one of three selected specialization areas: Garden Center, Grower, or Landscape. Participants will be tested with sample questions, plant samples and photos from the plant identification CD, and a design plan.

It is strongly recommended that attendees purchase and review the MNLA Certified Professional manual before attending training. Manuals are available for $70 plus tax and shipping and can be ordered by calling the MNLA office at 651-633-4987, or click here to print an order form.

Attending this training session does not guarantee a passing score on the MNLA Certified Professional Exam. The class is intended to review the test procedures and to provide you a barometer with your base line knowledge of the information in the MNLA Certification Manual.
