Photo Requirements
The MNLA Landscape Awards Committee will accept only digitial photos for the 2008 awards competition. This requirement was established because of the increased use of digital cameras and the easy convenience of having photos converted to digitial images. Entrants will need to submit 20 jpg photos on a single CD-ROM to complete their application. Please number the photos 1-20 in the filename (not on the digital image itself). File formats that will not be accepted include: .gif, .png, or .pdf files. The entrant assumes all responsibility for copyrights, photographic fees, and client permission for further use of photos by the MNLA for public relations purposes. No limitations can be placed on photo use or the entry will not be considered.

Judging
Entries are judged by a panel of practicing professionals in the fields of landscape education, landscape architecture, horticulture, arboriculture, and irrigation. (Members of MNLA Landscape Awards Committee do not serve as judges.) The panel will evaluate digital photos, a written narrative and work performance chart for each entry. The type, size, and cost of the project are not the criteria for judging. Quality of design, installation, materials and workmanship will be factors considered by the judges. Photos should display these characteristics specifically, including in-progress shots for installation entries. Photos must adequately present the scope of the project entered and sufficient detail of the work performed to allow the judges to determine the quality of the design, installation, or maintenance. Work-in-progress photos are required for 2008 installation and irrigation entries. Please read all instructions carefully.
