Program Description: Prepare for the category A and E pesticide applicator certification exam by attending this 1 ½ day study program.
MDA staff will be administering certification exams on Day 2. You MUST apply and pay for your license online prior to the class date in order to take the exam. Category A & E Exams will be provided on Day 2 of this workshop.

Please note: This instruction program is intended to be a review of information in the study manuals. Applicants must purchase the following three study manuals prior to attending the course:
- Category A-1: National Pesticide Applicator Core Manual (Jan. 2007)
- Category A-2: Minnesota Supplement for Category A (Dec. 2012)
- Category E 2nd Edition: Turf & Ornamentals Pesticide Manual (2014)

Workshop payments to MNLA DO NOT include the cost of the Pesticide Applicator License application fee.
To test and obtain a Pesticide Applicators License, you MUST:
- Apply and pay for a Commercial or Noncommercial Pesticide Applicator License PRIOR to the workshop. This is done online at www.mda.state.mn.us – You must print the confirmation page and bring it to the exam. The cost is $75. - MDA will no longer accept payment for the test at the time of testing. Exams must be applied for and paid for prior to the testing date - March 23.
- Exams will only be given to those who have completed the application and paid for their exam in advance.
- You must pass both Category A – Core and Category E – Turf and Ornamental exams by 70%.

1:00—MDA Proctored Pesticide Certification Exam (Categories A and E)
Vera Krischik is an associate professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of Minnesota and performs research and extension on insects in landscapes, greenhouses, and nurseries. She is interested in developing integrated pest management (IPM) programs that reduce pesticide use, encourage biological control, and use biorational pesticides when appropriate. She teaches a course on landscape IPM that is open to participants in the green industry.
Morning coffee and lunch are included both days.
Two days of metered parking will be provided by MNLA. Parking is available in one of the state-owned, metered parking locations on the Capitol Complex.

Note: Securing a parking spot and walking from the lot to the Freeman Building may take additional time. Please plan for extra time to arrive at the workshop. The workshop will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.
