The urban landscape can be a very harsh environment and often does not reflect ideal growing conditions for many tree species. This walking tour will highlight the good and bad of urban tree performance, planting and maintenance. Along the way we'll have ample opportunity to view and discuss innovative tree planting systems and some of the species used in one of the most urbanized areas in Minneapolis.
Enjoy the opportunity to network and learn from other industry professionals along the way.
This walking tour will appeal to all industry segments, especially design, maintenance, and tree care professionals.
Gary Johnson and Chad Giblin of the University of Minnesota Urban Forestry Outreach, Research & Extension Nursery will be our tour guides.
This tour will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes, as we will be walking for about 2.5 hours.
