Horticulture Night offers a wide variety of demonstrations, presentations and tours; most are offered twice throughout the event.

Horticulture topics will include:

  •  Designing Containers
  • MN Hardy Mums
  • Hostas
  • Small Fruits, with an emphasis on prunus fruits (apricots, cherries, plums)
  • Growing Garlic
  • Heirloom Vegetables
  • Shade Trees
  • Hardscapes
  • Backyard Birds
  • Annual Flower walking tour
  • Low Tunnel Strawberry tour - see how it's done! We'll actually build a low tunnel as part of the tour!

During the event, the public will have a chance to vote for their top three favorite flowers in the Display Garden! Flowers receiving the most votes will earn the distinction as "Consumer Favorites" in their annual flower report, which goes out to plant breeding companies around the world. Other activities include farm tours, cow milking demonstration, a presentation of the Meat-We-Eat (where our cuts of meat come from), vendor and food booths, and live music.
Horticulture Night is free and open to the public.
