Otten Bros. Garden Center & Landscaping
Otten Bros. is a second generation, family owned garden center and residential design/build landscape business. We were proud to celebrate our 60th year in business last year. Otten Bros. was founded in 1963, by three brothers from the Buffalo area. Today, Otten Bros. sits on over 11 acres in Long Lake (which is just 20 minutes west of downtown Minneapolis).  We also operate a small rural growing range and retail garden center in Delano called The Flower Farm.

Dundee Nursery & Landscaping
Dundee Nursery & Landscaping is a family owned and operated, full service garden center. Our friendly experts have the talent and knowledge to assist with our many fine products, plants, and services. Our landscape department will design and install an ideal outdoor living space. The floral department has fresh cut flowers and arrangements for any occasion. The garden center and store have everything you need for gardening inside and outside, plus delightful home accents.

Bachman’s, Inc.—Plymouth
Bachman's has been in business since 1885, when founder Henry Bachman, Sr., planted potatoes, lettuce, onions, and squash on a plot of land in south Minneapolis. Today, that plot contains the firm's headquarters and acres of floral, gift, garden, and landscaping departments, and Bachman's has grown to be one of the largest traditional floral and nursery operations in the world. At present, Bachman's has six retail floral, gift, and garden centers in the Twin Cities, and a floral presence in metro area Lunds and Byerly's stores. Bachman's also operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a nursery wholesale division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range near Lakeville, which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold through Bachman's locations. Bachman's fleet of purple floral trucks delivers over 5,000 packages during an average week.

Kelley & Kelley Nursery

Kelley & Kelley, A 92 year old family-owned Enterprise offers a line of annuals, perennials, pots, herbs and topiaries, with an added emphasis on the somewhat hard to find perennials . These include natives, woodlanders, and shade-lovers. At the helm currently is Steve Kelley, the 4th generation Kelley to enjoy the delights (and, at times, the travails) of the business.  The lure of Kelley & Kelley remains, after all these years, its setting. Settled into the old Kelley family homestead, the property, with its age-old trees, display gardens and beds in which perennials are grown presents a distinctively different atmosphere than that at many garden centers. We love the homey feel and have resisted "prettying-up" the grounds.

Tonkadale Greenhouse
Tonkadale Greenhouse has called Minnetonka home since 1947. At that time, the business consisted of an 18’ x 100’ structure. Robert Anderson started the business as a breeder of specialty African Violets. To expand the business, Anderson began producing spring bedding plants, an evolution that continues today.  The business was purchased by Bill and Shirley Maruska in 1978. The greenhouse facility was completely rebuilt and the business began to grow.  Upon entering Tonkadale, you are surrounded by the colors of the season. Beyond is the greenhouse itself which changes seasonally. During peak season, the greenhouse is filled from floor to ceiling with a colorful array of fresh plant material just waiting to surprise and delight. Our plants stand out because of our exceptional quality and selection. We go to great lengths to offer the newest and most outstanding varieties each year.

Coffee will be provided in the morning and parking is free.  The tour will stop for lunch at Broadway Pizza in Plymouth.

Note:  Sites will not necessarily be toured in the order presented above.
